Hybrid inverters are used to couple directly with the solar PV system to generate usable electricity in a property and to store any excess energy in a battery. The inverter is aims to minimise export by storing the excess energy in the battery during generation hours and to minimise import by discharging to meet demand in the property. The inverters include in-built WiFi and a LAN port for a hard-wired network connection.
The new generation of inverters offer a cleaner design, discretely enclosing the connection ports. Additionally, the Gen 3 has an increased max input current per string of 15A allowing for higher current panels to be utilised in system designs and an increased MPPT range.
The inverters are (HxWxD) 588 x 480 x 214D mm and weigh 32kg. The units are IP65-rated and backed by a 5-year warranty.
